Isis
Mother of Life
When life seems dry, depleted, filled
with repetitive tasks
or simply stagnant and stifled,
Isis, the Mother of Life,
holds the ability to revive
even the most numb, resistant and difficult
circumstances in your life.
She calls to you now,
seeking to bestow gifts of life upon you.
Be bold and brave;
open your arms and receive.

Mother of Coins
Mother of earth I am.
My being is defined by growth and decay.
My body and my vision are wide-awake and present.
Life has painted me with fine strokes and woven me into trees, flowers, fruits, plants, animals, and the earth’s organism, which brought us all into being. I am the provider of nourishment, I add flesh to bone.
When the moon changes, my body responds with red lines.
I dwell in the feet, legs, pelvis, belly, organs, sinews, joints, arms, hands, heart, and head. I know the ways, the pulsating circulation of blood, the subtle structure of nerves.
You can find me on the market place and in all those places where money and goods are exchanged as well as in the gardens and fields.
I know the power of coins. I know both sides: wealth and poverty, abundance and scarcity. I am the one at the cradle, the one centered in herself, the one who nurses.
I gather, heal, and enjoy. I influence that which has not yet manifested itself. I am the coiled-up serpent at the base of the spine. When the serpent uncoils, the grass trembles. My husband – his physical being not unlike my own – built a boat for me, in which to cross the river.
Archetypes
The Castle
It’s no wonder fairy tales tell of sleeping princesses within castle walls. Like most archetypes, The Castle is loaded with duality: it represents abundant riches, seductive fantasy, ornate wonders, and lavish adornments, yet the walls are thick, cold, and shadowy.
This card points to a tendency to hold on to possessions (quite possibly a literal home) or position that project the image of achievement, while the soul longs to run barefoot in The Forest, leaving it all behind.
At times we must “settle down”, yet The Castle lulls us with its spell of materialism, and we fall asleep to our deepest dreams.
The Castle can be a motivating force, and enchanting goal to travel toward – but it is best not to linger within its walls of dependent deception for too long.
When light it is visiting your throne of power.
When dark it is stuckness, depression, spells, walls.

57 – The Way of Intuition
This card is intuitive awareness that supports survival, in its very material form. It runs very deep, and is the source of the consciousness, representing the deep intuition of humans, which ensures well-being and survival, a gateway into the future.
It is sensitive to noise and vibrations. To be attentive and alert in the now is the mode of anticipating what is to come. It is selective, and it does not layer its intuitions onto everyone else as truth.
Intuition can also take us deeper into the mire of suffering. Intuition or ‘yi’ the water eye, is a very gentle path, because it slices through matter and illusion, guiding us through our karma and eventually brings us out into the light, into clarity.
To get to the heart of matter, we must let go of the ‘I’, and this sense of ‘knowing’ and step bravely into the unknown. It leaves us often vulnerable and naked. It is the myth of the philosopher’s stone and we are here to unlock the deepest layers of light within that stone, the Maya.
When we penetrate to the heart of matter, the whole fabric of reality is shook. Beyond that is only truth – death is an illusion.
