TAKING THIS JOURNEY INTO SOVEREIGNTY DEEPLY INTO OUR OWN HEART WISDOM
This Taurus Full Moon draws us towards a sovereignty that is rooted in inspiration, creativity and the return of our own aliveness. With both the Moon and Sun in awkward relationship with Pluto at this Full Moon, we may begin to recognise how much of our energy is occupied with protection, managing uncertainty or security. What emerges when our grip loosens and softens: we come back to our own imagination, spontaneity and the freedom. Hexagram 61 invites us beyond the limitations of acquired knowledge and habitual thinking. There is wisdom in listening, unlearning and the breath of life itself. The Poet gives words and form to feelings, its how our creative expression and truth enters into the world. With it’s bow, the Eight of Flames gathers this awakening energy, and draws back the bow. Our inspiration also seeks and needs direction and expression, it can’t stay hidden inside, in the depths. While Taurus seeks stability and Scorpio draws us into the vulnerability of change, this Full Moon invites a deeper confidence in life’s movement and creative force; it says meet life creatively and fluidly, rather than relying upon clinging to certainty or control. The journey into sovereignty takes us from laying low in protection and into inspiration, then from inspiration into our potential expressed through directed action. We are here to actively engage in the forces of creation.
Tarot
Eight of Flames
The fire of the mind.
Concentration and inspiration.
You are everything at once:
the power of the resting beast,
the raised bow,
the string,
and the arrow.
Gather all your mental faculties,
concentrate, and focus –
like you would do while pulling back the string of a bow.
The mind becomes one with the target.
Your inspiration will know when to release
the arrow in order to hit the target.
Archetypes
The Poet
The Poet’s work is to feel immensely and not be afraid. They must seek out truth in the darkest corners of the world and carry it back for all to see.
This unique capacity resides within us all, regardless of our relationship to creativity.
When The Poet energy is present, there is a call for deep honesty and reflection, for seeing the big picture within the little one. The Poet rides effortlessly between the personal and universal.
It’s possible that others may not seem to listen or care about The Poet’s work, but do not be discouraged.
The words of The Poet ring true for centuries to come, soothing the wounds of despair and violence that captivate our world.
The Poet’s work is never finished. Find your voice, and trust that the wind will carry it.
When light it is clairvoyant, wise, timeless. When dark it is harmful words, sharp tongue, thwarted creativity.

61 – The Way of Inspiration
This hexagram is called Inner Confidence, and combines the trigrams sun and Tui, wind and marsh.
We are all psychotic in the sense that psychosis generally points towards losing touch with ordinary reality; the planes of reality that are far beyond what we generally refer to as ‘normal’. There is a precarious balance to be struck – if we go too far from our waking reality, will we be able to return and integrate the experience, or stay stuck in the extremeness?
But if we don’t even dare venture beyond the terrain of our mind, we’ll stay a stable psychotic. Generally when we look around, we don’t see a world created by the heart, but rather one by the mind. It’s come about through greed, lust for power and fear of death.
To find wisdom we have to give up knowledge. Wisdom is alive, vibrant, wild, spontaneous, illogical, paradoxical. So in many ways, the journey of life is an unlearning.
The secret to this is the healing power of creativity. It allows us to listen to that which comes from within, from beyond the veil, and reimprint our awareness with its truth. Inspiration is playing with the music of creation. To be inspired means to be filled with the breath of life. This is the secret of how we can break out of our psychosis, we become a creator. Holy life begins with inspiration, then it becomes a life of higher striving and finally it becomes the life of self-emptying, in which all that we have learned is released.
